Since the release of Advantech's VEGA-300 series, its products have received a good response from the market. As of 2022, the performance of the product has been improved by 10 times compared to the previous generation of products, providing powerful graphics and image computing capabilities. With the Edge AI Suite software toolkit, users can easily integrate the VEGA AI Accelerator module into existing embedded boards and systems for AI inference.
Advantech's AI AI acceleration card is an AI acceleration card using Intel Movidius VPU (Vision Processing Unit) and provides a variety of package interface options. Support for the OpenVINO toolkit helps accelerate computer vision and deep learning inference at the edge.

Taking VEGA-340 as an example, the product is equipped with 8 Intel Movidius Myriad X VPUs, PCIe x4, and hardware accelerator components optimized for image processing, computer vision, and deep learning, providing powerful graphics and image computing capabilities to meet the AI requirements of complex computing tasks such as medical and AOI applications.
At the same time, Advantech provides the Edge AI Suite software toolkit, which incorporates the Intel OpenVINO distribution and provides a user-friendly graphical interface. Customers can use the VEGA-340 and the built-in training model of the Edge AI suite or their own models to perform AI inference on edge devices while monitoring device status in real time.
The VEGA-340 is ideal for AI-based vision applications such as machine vision, medical diagnostics and video surveillance. Compared to VEGA-320, VEGA-340 is equipped with 8 VPU chips, which can provide 8x the performance. For object detection applications, running the MobileNet SSD model on 8 VPU is about six times more efficient than on an Intel Core i3. Customers can easily integrate the VEGA-340 AI acceleration module into existing embedded boards and systems for AI inference. It can improve AI performance and free up additional CPU/GPU resources, which can bring more application scenarios.
