The 377FC and 378FC clamp meters feature the new FieldSense™ technology, which enables you to measure voltage and current using the jaws.
By integrating Fluke Connect software into many Fluke tools, including the 377 FC and 378 FC clamp meters, you can save time and money on troubleshooting. Measurements can be stored in the cloud, and teams can access the relevant data at any time on their smart devices or computers. Whether your maintenance and reliability team collects data from condition monitoring sensors or portable test tools, they now have all the data they need to make critical decisions and get the necessary work done.
Fluke Connect on the 377 FC and 378 FC clamp meters
Both the 377 FC and 378 FC clamp meters support Fluke Connect, enabling users to record, analyze, and share results with team members. With Fluke Connect, users can:
Remotely record, analyze, and monitor measured values
Pinpoint the cause of intermittent failures
Collect data to be used as a basis for preventive maintenance
Work safely outside of the arc flash area
Save measurements and readings and share them with your team
Resolve intermittent failures
Maintenance teams are often plagued by breakdowns, and the best way to spot intermittent failures is to record data over a period of time. Rather than hoping to spot intermittent device issues as they arise, set up a clamp meter and use Fluke Connect to record measurements over time. By recording current and voltage values, you can determine the cause of voltage drops in your system.
Troubleshoot the system
When troubleshooting a system, such as a three-phase system, you can use Fluke Connect to share your results with a client or manager to identify and resolve issues. By saving three-phase measurements, including phase rotation information, to the cloud, any member of your team can access them and work together to find the root cause of the failure. Collaboration can happen quickly so that you can start taking action to resolve the issue.
Preventative maintenance
Using Fluke Connect on a clamp meter can help you create the trend and baseline data you need for preventative maintenance over time. The software allows teams to graphically view asset trends and data collected over time. Workers can complete data analysis that gives teams insights to predict equipment conditions and avoid downtime.
security
Safety is always a top concern, so being able to limit the number of people entering and the time spent in an arc flash area is another benefit of using Fluke Connect. Once the clamp meter is set up, you can view, save and check the measured values, all safely from a distance.
How to set up Fluke Connect
The Fluke Connect app is available on Apple and Android mobile devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Go to "Settings > Bluetooth" on your smartphone. Confirm that Bluetooth is turned on.
Open the Fluke Connect app on your device
Open the Fluke tool
Press the wifi button to activate the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio
In the list of connected Fluke tools on the app, select the tool you want to use to get started.
Now you can measure, save and share your measurements through the app. The data can be viewed in the Fluke Connect Mobile app or the Fluke Connect web app.
How to perform three-phase voltage and current measurements and determine phase rotation
Connect the 377FC/378FC clamp meter to the Fluke Connect app
Activate the wire-to-wire mode (L1-L2-L3) and perform a three-phase measurement using a clamp meter
Once the L1-L2-L3 measurements are completed, the tool automatically calculates and displays the line-to-line and wire-to-ground measurements on the FC app
The phase rotation indicator will also be displayed on the app*
*This information is only displayed on the app, not on the clamp meter
How data is recorded
Turn on the 377FC/378FC and press the Fluke Connect button
Open the Fluke Connect app on your phone or tablet
Click Capture Measurement and select the clamp table you want to use to record the data
Once selected, you will start to see real-time measurements. Click the Fluke Connect information icon to learn more
Select the recording interval and duration and start recording
When recording is complete, select Stop Log and Download Data to download the data to Fluke Connect
You can view the data for these records in the Main Menu >> Measurements. The recorded data can also be shared via email for further analysis in a file in .csv/.xls/.pdf format.

Fluke network cable tester principle and features
Fluke network cable testers are usually used to test whether the connection mode of the crystal head connected to both ends of a network cable is smooth, which helps to determine whether the network cable is in good condition, and can also test whether the crystal head is connected correctly. There are usually two ends, one is the main test end and one is the remote ...

Power Quality Measurement Technology Issue 6 - The Significance of THD at 40th, 50th and 100th Harmonics?
Everyone knows that THD is Total Harmonic Distortion, which is divided into voltage THD and current THD, which indicates the severity of voltage and current waveform distortion. The larger the harmonic content of the waveform, the more serious the waveform distortion and the larger the THD value. Conversely, the lower the THD value.
That...

Fundamentals of leakage current measurement
Application note
In any electrical device, there is a certain amount of current flowing to the ground through a protective ground conductor. This current is generally referred to as the leakage current. The most common way for leakage current is to flow through the insulation around conductors, as well as through filters that protect electronics around your home or office. Then it would be ...
