Fuji Electric (FE), headquartered in Tokyo, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mitsuhiro Kitazawa, announced that it has developed an updated policy on the completion of its development plan for a sustainable society and its corporate vision for environmental protection by 2050.
The overall objectives of the concept of sustainable development are a series of international development trends from 2016 to 2030 based on the United Nations Organization of the Summit on Sustainable Development

The international community has long listened to the overarching goals of the Sustainable Development Perspective (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement*2, and as members of social development, companies are expected to adopt more proactive actions to help address social development and environmental pollution while achieving economic development.
Promoting prosperity, encouraging independent innovation and finding development that is shared with the geographical environment are part of FE's corporate culture philosophy, as well as part of the current policy of management methods, and the company expects to carry out business processes related to electricity, energy and the natural environment, and contribute to the creation of a responsible and sustainable society. FE also looks forward to fully implementing the current policies of corporate culture and management methods to contribute to the overall goal of achieving the concept of sustainable development.
To address environmental pollution, FE has developed a current policy called "Environmental Protection Corporate Vision 2050", which is based on the Global Warming Response Plan formulated by the Japan Cabinet and is itself based on the Paris Agreement. The current policy contains three overarching goals: to achieve "low-carbon and environmentally friendly social development", "circular system social development" and "social development in harmony with nature".
In order to better align with this approach, FE has also taken the opportunity to change the Employee Code of Conduct. This documentation clearly shows how FE will enable the supply chain management of all companies to assist in dealing with social development and environmental pollution issues, and contribute to the overall goal of achieving the concept of sustainability in accordance with the company's organizational activities.
1) The overall goal of the concept of sustainable development is advocated
In order to make the theme activities of all enterprises move towards the overall goal of sustainable development, FE sorted out the relationship between corporate culture activities and the overall goals of 17 sustainable development concepts, and decided on the priority of the latter. In the future, FE will announce measures in various areas such as economic development, social development, and the natural environment.
2) 2050 Environmental Protection Corporate Vision
FE regards environmental protection measures as one of the key management issues of the company. In 2009, the company formulated the 2020 environmental protection corporate vision, according to the selection of energy-saving and environmentally friendly products, continue to reduce the carbon dioxide consumption in the processing process, and reasonably reduce the environmental pollution to the natural environment. In accordance with the Paris Agreement and the Global Warming Response Plan formulated by the Japan Cabinet, the Environmental Protection Vision 2050 aims to achieve "low-carbon environmental society", "circular system society" and "social development in harmony with nature" in all supply chain management.
