Honeywell PMD controllers

Honeywell's PMD controllers (domain controllers) control reliability isoparity processes and process equipment as part of the process, machinery and drive (PMD) control. It helps to meet the different needs of control for the management of continuous and batch processes, machines, independent and coordinated line drives for a variety of industries.

The PMD controller can be mounted in a rack configuration; A 19" rack of four to the controller. With its wide range of control tools, PMD controllers can support conventional control and logic as well as advanced control methods such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, optimization, multivariate control, and statistical process control.

Together with its high capacity, fieldbus interface and functionality, the PMD controller provides:

Flexibility and convenience with built-in tools

Integrated tools to manage the definition of applications and systems and field devices

Centralized fieldbus maintenance and alarm and diagnostic management

The ability to extend and distribute Profibus fieldbuses.

The PMD controller includes two fieldbus interfaces that support the master of the fieldbus standard EN50170 and interfaces DP/VO, V1, V2, Class 1 and 2. A dual-channel serial interface is also integrated into the controller. It has a multi-speed inbound line highway interface that allows rack-based I/O to be connected to the system. The controller is connected via Ethernet to the web interface of the automation system. It includes a control application execution environment for direct control of the process and any fieldbus-resident devices outside of the fieldbus.

The control functions of the PMD controller and the fieldbus interface and functions of the fieldbus-connected equipment automation system define the standards defined by the tools. As a result, the data is displayed by the application in exactly the same form, regardless of the device and the fieldbus in use.
