Solution: Clean the touch screen, pay special attention to clean the sound wave reflection stripes on the four sides of the touch screen, and disconnect the power supply of the touch screen control card when cleaning.
Fault 3: No response to touch
Phenomenon: When touching the screen, the mouse arrow does not move, and the position does not change.
Analysis: There are many reasons for this phenomenon, which are explained one by one:
(1) The dust or scale accumulated on the sound wave reflection stripes on the four periphery of the surface sound wave touch screen is very serious, resulting in the touch screen not working.
(2) The touch screen is malfunctioning.
(3) The touch screen control card is faulty.
(4) The touch screen signal line is faulty.
(5) The serial port of the computer host fails.

2. Analysis and treatment method of resistive touch screen fault phenomenon
Fault 1: Touch deviation
Phenomenon: The position of the finger touch does not coincide with the mouse arrow.
Analysis: After installing the driver, there was no vertical touch to the bullseye center position when correcting the position. The signal cable on the touch screen is poorly contacted or open.
Solution: Re-calibrate the position; Find breakpoints, reconnect, or replace the touchscreen.
Fault 2: Touch deviation
Phenomenon: When not touching, the mouse arrow always stays in a certain position, and when touching, the mouse arrow is at the midpoint between the touch point and the original stop point.
Analysis: There is a foreign object (non-active touch) pressing within the effective working area of the resistive touchscreen.
Solution: Remove the foreign object that compresses the effective working area of the resistive touch screen.
Fault 3: No response to touch
Phenomenon: When touching the screen, the mouse arrow does not move, and the position does not change.
Analysis: There are many reasons for this phenomenon, which are explained below:
(1) The touch screen is faulty
(2) The touch screen control card is faulty.
(3) The touch screen signal line is faulty.
(4) The serial port of the computer host fails.
(5) The computer's operating system is malfunctioning.
(6) The touch screen driver is installed incorrectly.
3. Common faults and troubleshooting of resistive screens
1. The resistive touch mouse only moves in a small area or the resistive touch screen is not allowed
Generally, this situation will occur in the *secondary driver, please run the touch screen calibration procedure. The touchscreen calibration procedure must also be run after changing the display resolution (Start – Procedure)
2. The mouse has been appearing at a certain point on the four sides of the monitor, this situation is because the touch area of the resistive screen (the surface of the resistive screen is divided into two parts: the touch area and the non-touch area, and there is no response when clicking on the non-touch area) is pressed by the display shell or cabinet shell, which is equivalent to being touched all the time at a certain point. If the cabinet shell presses the touch area, you can increase the distance between the cabinet and the monitor screen a little more, if the monitor shell presses the touch area, you can try to loosen the screws of the monitor shell a little bit, if it still doesn't work, please contact our company's technical department.
3. The mouse moves in the opposite direction with the hand touch, which is the four-wire connector connected between the touch screen control box and the touch screen, and the direction can be adjusted in reverse.
4. Touch no response, check whether the connection of the touch screen is right, one of the wires connected to the keyboard port of the host (take 5 volts from the keyboard port of the touch screen working voltage) is not connected, please check the connection to observe the touch screen control box light, if it is not lit or the red light is on, it means that the control box is broken, please replace. If you confirm that this is not the case, please delete the touch screen driver and restart the computer to reinstall the driver, or replace it with a newer driver.
Check whether there is a conflict between devices and serial port resources on the host, check and adjust the hardware devices. For example, if the default IRQ of some NICs is 3 and conflicts with the IRQ of COM2, you should change the IRQ of the NIC to an idle and unused IRQ. It may also be that the computer motherboard and the touch screen control box are not compatible, please replace the main unit or motherboard. If the touch screen is used for a long time and you find that some areas of the touch screen cannot be touched, it may be that the touch screen is broken, please replace the touch screen.
Fourth, the common faults and principles of capacitive screens
The "drift" of capacitive screen mainly refers to the following situations:
1. Misaction of touch operation, that is, touching point A, but responding to point B
2. Misaction without touching, that is, the body or conductive objects are close to the screen and have not yet touched, and the touch response is made
3. There is no action on the touch operation, that is, the touch screen has been touched with the finger, but the screen has not made a touch response.
Before introducing the causes of "drift", it is necessary to introduce the working principle of capacitive screens.
The capacitive screen uses the current induction of the human body to work. The capacitive touch screen is a four-layer composite glass screen, the inner surface and the interlayer of the glass screen are each coated with a layer of ITO (transparent conductive film), the outer layer is a thin layer of silica glass protective layer, the sandwich ITO coating is used as the working surface, four electrodes are drawn out at the four corners, and the inner layer of ITO is the shielding layer to ensure a good working environment.
When the finger touches the metal layer, due to the electric field of the human body, the user and the surface of the touch screen form a coupling capacitance, which is a direct conductor for high-frequency currents, so the finger draws a small current from the contact point. This current is distributed from the electrodes on the four corners of the touch screen, and the current flowing through these four electrodes is proportional to the distance from the finger to the four corners, and the controller calculates the position of the touch point by calculating the proportion of these four currents.
It is precisely because of this working principle of the capacitive screen that the phenomenon of "drift" exists. After figuring out the working principle of the capacitive screen, it is easy to know the reasons for the "drift" of the capacitive screen.
5. Common faults and troubleshooting of infrared touch screen
1. Double-click is not very sensitive
Turn on the infrared screen to adjust its sensitivity and turn the sensitivity down.
2. Drift will occur in the case
Since the working principle of the infrared screen is to rely on infrared rays to work, it usually plays the role of touch when the sleeves and other objects touch the infrared screen (such as when the touch screen is touched by hand, the sleeves are also on the screen with the same point, and the mouse pointer is not in the position of the finger point, which is not a drift phenomenon).
3. Calibrate the touch screen in the case
If you are installing an infrared touchscreen for the first time or the resolution of your computer has changed, then you have to recalibrate the touchscreen. The method of calibration is as follows: click the "Calibration" button, when the calibration interface is displayed, please click the icon on the interface in turn, the calibration interface will automatically disappear when the calibration is completed, and the data generated after calibration will take effect immediately. If you don't think the calibration is working well, you can do it multiple times until the pointer tracking is good. Then press the "Confirm" button.
Diagnosis and handling methods for touch screen faults
1. Surface acoustic touch screen

Solution(s):
(1) Observe the touch screen signal indicator, the light flashes regularly under normal circumstances, about once per second, when touching the screen, the signal light is always on, and after stopping the touch, the signal light resumes flashing.
(2) If the signal light is still on when it is not touched, first check whether the touch screen needs to be cleaned; Secondly, check whether the serial slogan of the hardware connection is consistent with the serial slogan set by the software, and whether the serial port of the computer host is working normally.
(3) Run the COMDUMP command in the drive disk, the command is a DOS command, add a space and the code of the serial port 1 or 2 after the COMDUMP when running, and touch the screen to see if there is any data rolled out. If data is rolled out, the hardware connection is normal, check whether the software settings are correct and whether there are conflicts with other hardware devices. If there is no data rollover, the hardware will fail, and the specific fault point is to be determined.
(4) Run the SAWDUMP command in the drive disk, the command is a DOS command, when running the program, the program will ask for the type of control card, the port number of the connection, and the transmission rate, and then the program will read the relevant data from the control card. Please check the AGC values of the X-axis and the Y-axis in the lower left corner of the screen, if the value of either axis is 255, the transducer of that axis is faulty and needs to be repaired.
(5) After installing the driver, pay attention to the details of the system error. "Control card not found", "Touchscreen not connected", etc., check the corresponding parts according to the prompts. For example, whether the touch screen signal cable is firmly connected with the control card, whether the keyboard cable is all connected to the host, etc.
(6) If it still cannot be ruled out, please * personnel for maintenance.
