Five common faults of industrial computers

1. Electrical connection failure

Since the task is to adapt to a variety of harsh working environments, it is inevitable that a large amount of dust or vibration will be generated on site. Long-term vibration can cause some parts of the connector to loosen, causing problems such as poor contact. This type of problem is difficult to diagnose and is usually easier to detect at the user's site.

2. Software malfunction

The likelihood of such failures, including incorrect application software settings, malfunctioning or compromised operating systems, and viruses should be high among all the causes.

3. Failures caused by the use environment

The causes of the use environment include: electromagnetic interference, unstable power supply, high or low working environment temperature, and even lightning strikes.

Fourth, aging failure

It refers to the failure caused by the aging of the industrial computer, but with the upgrading and progress of electronic technology, this kind of failure is becoming less and less.

5. Man-made failure

It mainly refers to the obstacles caused by the user's unfamiliarity with the production characteristics of the industrial computer and the adoption of the wrong method.

Common faults and solutions of industrial computers

With the continuous development of industrial computer technology, industrial computers have been widely used in industrial production processes, therefore, we need to be familiar with the causes and treatment methods of industrial computer failures. Below, we give corresponding solutions to the common faults of industrial computers.

1. After the industrial computer is powered on, the power supply works normally, and the motherboard does not have any response?

First, remove the peripheral card and connected devices and see if they can boot? If there is no response, remove the memory and see if there is an alarm? Then check if the CPU is working properly? Finally, replace the motherboard and check if the motherboard is normal.

Part 2: After booting up, the motherboard can work normally, and the BIOS detects the keyboard part and reports that the keyboard is wrong?

First, check if the keypad lock is locked and release the keypad lock. If not, check that the connection between the motherboard and the bottom plate is correct, and that the connection between the keyboard and mouse is correct.

3. The power indicator on the bottom panel will turn off when it is turned on, and it cannot be powered on?

First, look at the case for foreign objects that cause a short circuit. Second, check if the power cord is reversed, resulting in a short circuit to ground. Again, replace the power supply, motherboard, backplane, and other devices.

4. After booting up, I hear the motherboard self-test sound but there is no display on the display:

1. Check whether the monitor is connected to the host normally; 2. Clear the CMOS (there may be wrong settings) or replace the BIOS; 3. Replace the CPU board (motherboard integrated graphics card) or monitor.

5. The start-up time of the industrial computer is too long:

1. Run the disk defragmenter to eliminate fragmentation; 2. Close the auto-start item of the system boot file; 3. Run the disk cleaner to eliminate junk files; 4. Adjust the network settings.

6. The memory self-test does not match the actual capacity after booting:

1. Check whether the motherboard video memory is shared with the motherboard memory, which will separate a part of the memory as video memory; 2. Check whether the memory is small-particle memory, because some old chips do not support large-particle memory, and only half of the capacity will be displayed after plugging in; 3. A very small number of motherboards use special CPUs, which occupy part of the memory as an instruction decoder for CPU instruction set conversion, resulting in inconsistent memory capacity.

7. Turn on the power and the industrial computer does not respond:

1. Check whether the power socket is energized and whether the connection with the industrial computer is normal; 2. Check whether the power supply fan rotates after powering on, and whether the monitor is connected to the host normally; 3. Unplug the memory module and turn on whether it will alarm; 4. Replace the CPU or motherboard.
