Advantech has launched two new embedded single board computers (ESBCs) – the MIO-5152 3.5" and the MIO-2363 Pico-ITX. Powered by Intel's 8th Gen Atom® Elkhart Lake x6000E and Celeron® N/J series processors, these industrial-grade single board computers are suitable for a wide range of applications. The MIO-5152 adheres to stringent security standards (IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 Criteria A) and provides rich I/O to enable retail and medical applications. The MIO-2363 features a more rugged and reliable design to support demanding outdoor applications, including a wide DC power input (12-24 V), an integrated on-board memory/storage design, and support for a wide temperature range (-40-85°C/-40-185°F).
Low power consumption and high computing performance to accelerate the deployment of IoT applications
Powered by the latest Intel Atom®x6000E series and Celeron® series processors, it supports up to 4 cores and 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. Compared to the previous generation solution, CPU performance is increased by 50% and graphics processing power is doubled. In addition, this supports a life cycle of up to 15 years. The MIO-5152 and MIO-2363 provide stable support for a wide range of industrial applications through their powerful computing capabilities and industrial features.
DDR4, the mainstream technology standard for memory transmission
Major DRAM manufacturers have shifted their focus to the production and development of DDR4 versus DDR5, resulting in DDR3 prices skyrocketing since Q4 2020, which in turn has forced the IoT market to adopt DDR4 technology as its primary data transfer method. Advantech's MIO-5152 and MIO-2363 are the first Intel Atom-based® embedded single board computers with DDR4. DDR4-compatible systems are able to transfer more data with less power consumption, while delivering more reliable lead times and keeping market prices stable.
The MIO-5152 complies with safety standards and empowers medical devices
Advantech's MIO-5152 meets the criteria of IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 (contact discharge 8kV and air discharge 15kV) Criteria A, which protects against electrostatic discharge caused by human touch in sensitive environments such as hospitals and factories. The MIO-5152 can also provide rich I/O — 6 UART, 6 USB, dual LAN, and M.2 expansion — to enable network connectivity of storage, cameras, and sensor nodes, providing a complete solution for medical applications.
The MIO-2363 is an all-in-one on-board, compact design
Advantech's MIO-2363 supports onboard LPDDR4x-3733 (IBECC) and eMMC 5.1 up to 128GB. Wide voltage (12-24V) and Pico-ITX small form factor save space for additional DC converter power modules or external HDDs. Dual GbE LAN ports are available to meet industrial I/O needs. The single board computer uses a single M.2 E-Key to connect to a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, and another M.2 B-Key SATA/PCIe supports connection to a 2242 SATA enclosure or a 2242 PCIe RS-232 module for expansion. This range of features makes the MIO-2363 an excellent choice for automation applications such as robotic arms or mobile measurement solutions.

Advantech integrates the operating systems of the MIO-5152 and MIO-2363 with the WISE-DeviceOn IoT management software. The software provides an integrated package for embedded IoT devices, enabling simultaneous monitoring of the status of hardware, software, and peripherals. Over-the-air (OTA) functionality ensures remote BIOS updates while providing a backup and recovery mechanism. These features help avoid maintenance costs due to unexpected system failures.
