In response to the global goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, Advantech has partnered with Caiqi New Energy to build Taiwan's first hydrogen electric bus.
In view of the intensifying threat of climate change, there is a consensus on global net-zero carbon emissions. Recently, Advantech Corporation (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in industrial Internet of Things, signed a letter of intent with Caiqi New Energy to jointly build Taiwan's first self-made hydrogen electric bus (referred to as hydrogen electric bus) and jointly develop domestic and foreign markets in response to the global goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Jiang Mingzhi, Deputy General Manager of Advantech's Service IoT Business Group, pointed out that under the corporate vision of "Promoter of a Smart Earth", Advantech hopes to implement altruistic benefits and become a smart promoter of a sustainable planet with its own smart solutions, so in the past two years, in addition to actively formulating our goals for green operations, environmental management, and greenhouse gas emission intensity, we have also strived to develop solutions related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Advantech's Senior Associate of Service IoT Business Group, Victor Lin, emphasized that Advantech has more than 10 years of experience in fleet management and smart buses, and has successful cases all over the world. Since 2018, Advantech has been actively working with global electric bus partners to realize the vision of low-carbon green transportation. Through this partnership, Advantech will provide software and hardware integration solutions such as intelligent bus management cloud platform, TREK on-board computer solution, AI vehicle safety management, vehicle diagnostics and on-board audio-visual interactive services on Caiqi New Energy's hydrogen electric buses, hoping to improve the safety and efficiency of hydrogen electric buses and bring passengers a more comfortable riding experience.

Zheng Yinghao, chairman of Caiqi New Energy Co., Ltd., said that with all countries in the world committed to the realization of carbon neutrality policies, the team has confirmed that hydrogen electric buses are the ultimate products of large-scale electric public buses after repeated discussions. The cooperation with Advantech not only pools its experience in smart electric buses to jointly build the first hydrogen electric bus suitable for Taiwan, but also hopes to gradually promote hydrogen electric buses to the world with the help of Advantech's global marketing channels. In addition, it is also expected to use this cooperation to improve the self-made rate of domestic hydrogen electric buses and international competitive advantages. Advantech and Caiqi New Energy are expected to complete Taiwan's first hydrogen electric bus by the end of 2022, and will jointly market and promote it to the world in the future.
