Warehouse and distribution center operations managers need a barcode scanning solution that can read barcodes both near and far, and quickly read packaging labels on shelves from 10 cm to 20 m [4 inches to 66 feet] high. With a wide-angle read range of 42° and a read distance of 20 m [66 ft], the EX30 meets this critical requirement.

Operators expect seamless switching between short-range and long-range read modes. The Extended FlexRange EX30 features the latest fast autofocus technology, which is several times faster than the previous generation. Based on this level of performance, the operator does not feel a read delay over the entire distance, allowing for an efficient and comfortable work rhythm.

Its electrical interface is fully compatible with Honeywell's N670X Series, N660X Series, and N360X Series of compact fixed-focus scan engines. This compatibility provides customers with complete barcode scanning performance, from better to best, and can be installed on the same mobile device, minimizing design time and resources required. Parallel or MIPI interfaces are available and are commonly used today for the latest generation of processors.

The Extended FlexRange EX30 can be easily embedded in a mobile terminal running under the operating system by using the resources of the device's main processor. Honeywell allows customers to integrate decoding software into their solutions, save on acquisition costs by eliminating hardware, and improve performance by using the power of the main processor.

The Extended FlexRange EX30 is also available with the new Honeywell Gen7 DB decoder board, which can be easily integrated into non-OS (operating system) devices such as drones, mobile accessories, and modules.
