The 500 Series is Honeywell's line of air/gas, liquid, and surface temperature probes with NTC (negative temperature coefficient) thermistors. Due to their enhanced sensitivity, thermistors are highly effective when measuring the temperature of gases, liquids, or solids.
These small, easy-to-install probe assemblies place the thermistor element in the medium to be inspected, supporting and protecting the thermistor from damage during use or handling. These components also help direct the heat or liquid flow evenly through the thermistor to accurately sense temperature.
The enhanced reliability, accuracy and stability of the 500 Series products provide customers with greater flexibility in temperature monitoring. A wide operating temperature range (-60°C to 300°C [-76°F to 572°F]) provides application flexibility.
The 500 Series is available in a wide range of housing styles and materials, R-T (resistance-temperature) curves, mounting methods, mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, and connector types to meet the requirements of most applications. In addition to custom configurations, a variety of existing designs are also available.
Honeywell also offers probe assemblies that can be packaged—RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) technology for similar applications that require a linear output of the RTD instead of an NTC thermistor output.
