Expansion of the product range
As part of Turck's strategy to expand its product portfolio, newer and faster IO-link interface (COM3) encoders are now included in the industrial and universal product ranges. Similarly, they are available in absolute singleturn/multiturn and shaft/sleeve versions. This expansion is also closer to the professional line products, because QR24 is now supplying customers with IO-link products, which also makes our I0-link data plan even more complete, Turck is one of the global market leaders in the field of l0-link, we apply our expertise to encoder products, and then create the high-quality I0-link encoders in the market today.
1. Transmission rate
We have implemented the latest IO-link interface at 230.4 kbps (also known as COM3). This means that our customers can significantly improve their control circuits with IO-link encoders from Turck's I and universal lines. A full transmission cycle of 38.4 kbps (COM2) requires 2.3 milliseconds. With COM3, this cycle time takes only 0.46 milliseconds, which means that the rate is 5 times faster.
2. Resolution
The single-turn 14-bit resolution can meet the needs of most shopping malls, but our multiturn encoder can reach a total resolution of 32 bits, which is equivalent to the number of multiturns can reach 262,000 turns.
3. Mechanical properties
The two shoulder bearings inside the encoder form a particularly robust mechanical structure that protects the encoder from vibrations or shocks from the shaft. In addition, the number of electrical components has been reduced to a minimum. These features extend the service life of the encoder considerably.
Energy Harvesting Skill (Multiturn Encoder)
Normally, the full number of turns of the encoder is recorded even when the encoder is powered off. Turck's new multiturn I0-link encoder counts the number of revolutions and does not use a rated battery or mechanical gears, just like our other products. This means that our customers no longer have to worry about clutter when using batteries or regularly protecting faulty gears.
