The customer is a machinery manufacturing company from North China, which belongs to the automobile manufacturing industry, the company mainly produces wear-resistant rings, salt cores and stainless steel parts and other products, and sells them to professional piston manufacturing enterprises supporting automobile OEMs, and the end customers are BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, SAIC, Toyota, Honda and other internationally renowned automobile companies. At the same time, customers also take into account overseas business, and export products to United States, Japan, Germany, India, Brazil, Russia, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Taiwan and other countries and regions.
Pain
The company has been established for nearly 20 years, is a veteran machinery manufacturing enterprises, customer workshops have been laid out a number of CNC machine tools, has been managed by manual machine tools, and the production environment of the workshop is relatively harsh, not only filled with a variety of production equipment to start manufacturing noise, but also all kinds of dust flying in the workshop, so that the workshop staff is miserable, so the enterprise for the production line in a single, repetitive work to replace the need for robots to replace manual labor is very urgent.
As a result, the customer began to look for an automation solution. Because the layout of the machine tool has basically been finalized, coupled with the order pressure of the end user, it is not allowed to have a larger transformation action to minimize the impact on the production schedule, so after deliberation, the collaborative robot is chosen to be transformed, and the collaborative robot is easy to deploy and easy to operate, and the task of automation upgrading is completed in a short period of time.
solution
The project to be upgraded this time is the loading and unloading application of the salt core engraving machine, which needs to be put on the machine tool for finishing as a mold for the piston. The salt core code is placed in the material frame, stacked layer by layer, the position deviation is large, and a loading and unloading cycle needs to be completed within 15 seconds, and the on-site dust is large, which has high requirements for equipment performance and stability.
After continuous communication and on-site investigation, Elite finally recommended the EC66 collaborative robot to the customer, and in order to retain the existing feeding method, the 3D vision system was integrated into the Elite robot: when loading, visual positioning was used to achieve disorderly grasping. When unloading, it relies on the repeated positioning accuracy of 0.03mm ± by Elite robot for orderly placement. The IP54 protection level of Elite robot has basically met the needs of working in the workshop, but in order to further reduce the impact of dust, the robot is still put on a set of protective clothing for long-term stable work in the workshop.
