1. Set the system date and time
In the standard BIOS settings interface, you can correct the date and time of the system by pressing the arrow keys to move the cursor to the Date and Time options, and then pressing the Page Up/Page Down or +/&S722 buttons.
2. IDE interface settings
The IDE interface settings are primarily to set the number, type, and operation mode of the IDE devices. There are generally two IDE interface slots in the computer motherboard, and one IDE data cable can be connected to up to two IDE devices, so up to four IDE devices can be connected in a general computer. The meanings of each item in the IDE interface settings are as follows:
IDE Primary Master: the primary IDE interface of the IDE slots in the top group.
IDE Primary Slave: the slave IDE interface of the top group of IDE slots.
IDE Secondary Master: the primary IDE interface of the second IDE slot.
IDE Secondary Slave: The secondary IDE interface of the second set of IDE slots. Once you have selected an IDE, you can select the type of hard disk by pressing Page Up/Page Down or +/- keys: Manual, None, or Auto. In the meantime, the manual indicates that the user is allowed to set the parameters of the IDE device. None indicates that the BIOS settings of the computer are not detected when booted, and the most commonly used is to set the top engine item of the computer, for example, if you want to install some software with the shutdown disk, you need to set the BIOS, and set the BIOS top start item to the CD-ROM drive, so that the computer can enter the shutdown device software after it is restarted. Of course, you can also check the health status of your computer in the BIOS, such as CPU temperature.
If the device on the IDE interface is blocked, Auto indicates that the parameters of the IDE device are automatically detected. It is recommended that users use Auto so that the system can automatically find hard drive information.
3. Set up the floppy drive (Drive A/Drive B)
The Drive A and Drive B options are used to select the type of floppy drive for the unit. Generally, the motherboard BIOS supports two floppy disk drives, which are called A and B drives in the system, which correspond to Drive A and Drive B in the BIOS settings. If you are connecting a floppy drive to a crooked end of the cable, it should be set to Drive A in the BIOS. If the connection is not skewed in the center of the cable, it should be set to Drive B in the BIOS. There are 4 options in the floppy drive settings: None, 1.2MB, 1.44MB and 2.88MB, and almost all of them are 1.44MB 3.5in floppy drives, so according to the direction of the floppy drive connection data cable, set it to "1.44MB, 3.5in" at the corresponding Drive A or Drive B. If you don't have a floppy drive in your computer, set Drive A and Drive B to None.
4. Set the display mode (Video/ Halt On)
The Video item is the display mode setting, and the display mode that is generally tacitly approved by the system is EGA/VGA, which does not need to be corrected by the user. The Halt On item is a system fault setting, which is mainly used to set the corresponding actions that should be taken when the computer is at fault during the POST.
5. Memory manifestation
There are 3 options for the memory display: Base Memory, Extended Memory, and Total Memory, none of which can be corrected. After completing the standard CMOS settings, press the Esc key to return to the BIOS settings main interface.
