The first row of the block must be assigned an explicit address, and subsequent rows can be assigned an explicit or implicit address. When multiple data is entered after a single address, or a row containing only data, the compiler actively assigns an implicit address, and the compiler specifies an appropriate number of V stores based on the length of the previous address or identifier, such as bytes, words, and double words.
When entering the address, the scale standard is omitted and only V is entered, and the compiler will actively assign the appropriate V store according to the start address and the storage length required for the data, so that the data of different length scales can be mixed and allocated. Click the data-block button in the navigation bar to open the data-block window, which is also known as the data-block editor, which is a free-form text editor that allows you to enter addresses and data directly in the window. After entering a line, press the enter key directly, and the block editor will actively pattern the row, such as aligning address columns, data, and comments, and capitalizing the V store address.
If an error is included during the input process, a red cross will appear on the left. AFTER FINISHING AN ASSIGNMENT LINE, PRESS CTRL+ENTER, AND THE ADDRESS WILL BE ADDED TO THE NEXT AVAILABLE ADDRESS. Right-click on the address and select "Pick Symbol" in the pop-up menu, and you can enter the address by the symbol title. Click the Toggle Addressing button to toggle the display of the symbol title and absolute address, and click the Data Page Protection button to set password protection for the data page. Similar to a regular text editor, copying, cutting, pasting, deleting, and other operations are also applicable.
In the S7-200 SMART, the data block supports pagination, and the data page can be pierced or deleted through the toolbar button, and the save button can be clicked after the editing is completed. Once edited and saved, the data block can be compiled and downloaded to the PLC. Note that the data block of the S7-200 SMART is downloaded to the EEPROM of the CPU, and the data will not be lost after the PLC is powered off.
