Fuji Electric Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "FE"), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, under the leadership of President Mitsuhiro Kitazawa, is pleased to announce that it has established development goals*1 aimed at achieving a sustainable society, as well as a new policy called Environmental Vision 2050.

1. Fuji Electric Corporation's vision
The international community has adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement*2, and as a member of society, companies want to take more proactive actions to help solve social and environmental problems while achieving economic growth.
Promoting prosperity, encouraging innovation, and seeking to develop in harmony with the natural environment are part of FE's corporate philosophy, as well as part of its management policy, and the company wants to contribute to the creation of a responsible and sustainable society through its energy and environment-related businesses. FE also wants to thoroughly implement its corporate philosophy and management policies to contribute to the achievement of its sustainability goals.
To address environmental issues, FE has developed a policy called "Environmental Vision 2050", which is based on the Global Warming Response Plan developed by the Japan Cabinet, which itself is based on the Paris Agreement. The policy includes three goals: the realization of a "low-carbon society", "a circular society", and a "society in harmony with nature".
In order to better align with these initiatives, FE has also taken the opportunity to revise the Employee Code of Conduct. These documents clearly illustrate how FE will enable the entire company's supply chain to help address social and environmental issues and contribute to the achievement of sustainability goals through the company's activities.

1) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiatives
In order to move the company-wide activities toward the achievement of the SDGs, FE clarified the relationship between its corporate activities and the 17 SDGs and decided on the priorities of the latter. In the future, FE will announce its initiatives in the economic, social and environmental aspects.
2) Environmental Vision 2050
FE regards environmental initiatives as one of the company's important management issues. In 2009, the company formulated the 2020 environmental protection vision, through the use of energy-saving products, continuously reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the production process, effectively reduce environmental pollution. In line with the Paris Agreement and the Global Warming Response Plan formulated by the Japan Cabinet, Vision 2050 aims to realize a "low-carbon society," a "circular society," and a "society in harmony with nature" throughout the company's supply chain. In terms of reducing greenhouse gases, FE has not only reduced greenhouse gas emissions through its production, but has also set a target to reduce CO2 emissions through its products by 2030.
