The 75,000-square-foot Danfoss Low Carbon Innovation Center in United Kingdom has been approved by local authorities and is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment to develop energy-efficient solutions, in addition to a first-class research and development team.
It is worth mentioning that the Innovation Center will be the global center of excellence for Danfoss Digital Displacement®. The Digital Displacement Skill is a game-changing skill that improves system performance from the ground up, reduces fuel consumption in hydraulic power systems, and reduces CO2 emissions from industrial and off-highway machinery.
Danfoss Power Systems Editron has entered into a cooperation agreement with Meritor, a global leader in heavy-duty commercial vehicle powertrains, and Electra Commercial Vehicles, a United Kingdom all-electric commercial vehicle integrator, and participated in the Heavy-Duty Commercial Vehicle Electric Assembly (EPIC) Alliance, which will create a new generation of zero-emission electric powertrain systems dedicated to heavy-duty commercial vehicles at the Danfoss Low Carbon Innovation Center. Supplying OEMs with advanced solutions to reduce global CO2 emissions, the center will serve as Danfoss' United Kingdom headquarters for decarbonisation.
Together, the Innovation Center is the first Danfoss building in the world to achieve carbon neutrality, which is of great significance to the ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality for global affairs by 2030. The innovation center uses the waste heat generated during the production and testing process as the primary heat source, and also has a heat pump system as a backup. The company has also signed a green power purchase agreement, and the electricity consumption of the building will be mainly green electricity. It is estimated that the annual heating energy consumption of the center will be 75% lower than that of a conventional building of the same size.

The Danfoss Low Carbon Innovation Centre United Kingdom will be fully operational by the end of 2022 and will have 110 employees, including 30 new employees, and the centre will accommodate up to 200 people, a level that Danfoss estimates will reach within four years.
