AirTAC cylinder, some common sense about cylinders
Cylinder barrel
The inner diameter of the cylinder barrel represents the size of the cylinder output force. For example, the model meaning of the piston should do a smooth reciprocating slide in the cylinder barrel, and the surface roughness of the inner and outer surface of the cylinder barrel should reach Ra0.8um. The piston of SMC and CM2 cylinders adopts a combined sealing ring to achieve two-way sealing, and the piston and piston rod are connected with pressure riveting without nuts.
End caps
The end cover is provided with an intake and exhaust port, and some are also provided with a buffer mechanism in the end cover. The rod side end cap is provided with a sealing ring and a dust ring to avoid air leakage from the piston rod and external dust mixing into the cylinder. A guide sleeve is provided on the end cover of the rod side to improve the guiding accuracy of the cylinder and accept the piston rod. A small amount of lateral load on the upper part reduces the lower amount of the piston rod when it is extended, and prolongs the service life of the cylinder. The sleeve is generally sintered oil-impregnated alloy and forward-leaning copper castings. In the past, malleable cast iron was commonly used for end covers, and in order to reduce weight and prevent rust, YaTAC cylinders were often used for aluminum alloy die-casting, and brass materials were used for micro cylinders.
piston
The piston is the pressurized part of the cylinder. In order to avoid the left and right chambers of the piston of the AirTAC cylinder from blowing each other, a piston sealing ring is provided. Wear rings on the piston improve the cylinder's directability, reduce wear on the piston seals, and reduce frictional resistance. The wear-resistant ring length uses polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, cloth synthetic resin and other materials. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the sealing ring and the length of the necessary sliding part. The sliding part is too short, causing early wear and seizure. The material of the piston is usually aluminum alloy and cast iron, and the piston of the small cylinder is made of brass.
Piston rod
The piston rod is the most important stressed part of the cylinder. Generally, the use of AirTAC cylinder high carbon steel, the appearance of hard chrome plating, or the use of stainless steel, to prevent corrosion, and improve the wear resistance of the sealing ring.
Seals
The seal of the part at the reverse or reciprocating motion is called the dynamic seal, and the seal of the stop part is called the static seal.
