In the summer, in terms of the inverter that is indispensable for equipment control and speed regulation, the scorching weather is the hard injury of the inverter's heating. A large number of existing studies and practices show that the failure rate of the inverter will increase with the increase of temperature, the service life will decrease with the increase of temperature, and the service life of the inverter will be halved if the ambient temperature increases by 10 °C. For this reason, let's now analyze what are the causes of overheating of the inverter, and the countermeasures to solve the corresponding problems:

1. The ambient temperature is too high [inverter supporting equipment]

Reason: The inverter is composed of countless electronic devices, which will generate a lot of heat when working, especially when the IGBT works at high frequency, the heat generated will be more. If the ambient temperature is too high, it will also cause the temperature of the internal components of the inverter to be too high, in order to protect the internal circuit of the inverter, the inverter will report the high temperature fault and shut down.

Countermeasures: Reduce the temperature of the place where the inverter is located, such as installing forced refrigeration measures such as air conditioning or fans.

2. Poor ventilation of the inverter

Reason: If the air duct of the inverter itself is blocked or the air duct of the control cabinet is blocked, it will affect the heat dissipation inside the inverter, resulting in an overheating alarm of the inverter.

Countermeasures: Regularly overhaul the inverter, remove the garbage from its air duct, and smooth the air duct.

3. The fan is stuck or damaged

Reason: When the inverter fan is broken, a large amount of heat accumulates inside the inverter and cannot be dissipated.

It can be seen that the maintenance and maintenance of the inverter is particularly important, so how to reduce the failure rate, let the inverter spend the summer safely, and reduce customer losses? Therefore, now it is mainly introduced from the following aspects:

1. Pay attention to these points in the maintenance of the inverter in summer, appropriate temperature, humidity, ventilation, no dust and no interference, and clean the inverter inside and outside.

Second, the main aspects that directly affect the heat dissipation of the inverter?

1. Fan operation protection, the built-in fan of the inverter is the main means of internal heat dissipation of the box, which will ensure the normal operation of the control circuit. Therefore, if the fan is not functioning properly, it should be maintained immediately.

2. Overheating protection of the heat sink of the inverter moduleThe inverter module is the main component of heat generation in the inverter, and it is also the most important and fragile part of the inverter. Therefore, each inverter is equipped with an overheat protection device on the heat dissipator.

3. The inlet and outlet of the cooling air duct shall not be blocked, and the ambient temperature may also be higher than the allowable value of the inverter. Some methods to solve problems and suggestions for improvement are put forward, which have certain reference value for the application of inverter in practical engineering.

4. Attention should be paid to the interference of the inverter to the microcomputer control board. The microcomputer control board designed by the user has a poor level of technology, does not meet the EMC international standard, and after the use of the inverter, the conduction and radiation interference generated often leads to the abnormal operation of the control system, and necessary measures are taken.

3. Precautions for maintenance and maintenance of inverters in summer:

1. Check the operating status of the inverter, whether the voltage and current value during operation are within the normal range.

2. Carefully monitor and record the ambient temperature of the frequency conversion room, and the ambient temperature is generally between -10 °C and 40 °C. The temperature rise of the phase-shifting transformer should not exceed 130°C.

3. Avoid direct sunlight, humidity, and water droplets, summer is the rainy season, and rainwater should be prevented from entering the inverter (such as rainwater entering the air outlet along the air duct).

4. Inverter installation:

(1) The temperature is high in summer, and the ventilation and heat dissipation of the inverter installation site should be strengthened. Ensure that the ambient air is free of excessive amounts of dust, acids, salts, corrosive and explosive gases.

(2) In order to maintain good ventilation, the distance between the inverter and the surrounding obstructions should be in line with: 125px ≥ on both sides, 300px ≥ upper and lower parts.

(3) In order to improve the cooling effect, all inverters should be installed vertically, in order to prevent foreign objects from falling on the air outlet of the inverter and blocking the air duct, it is good to install a protective mesh cover above the air outlet of the inverter.

(4) When a control cabinet is equipped with two or more inverters, they should be installed side by side (transversely arranged) as far as possible, and if they must be arranged longitudinally, a diaphragm should be installed between the two inverters to avoid the hot air from the inverter below entering the inverter above.
