Relay is a kind of electrical appliance that turns on or off the control circuit according to the change of external input signals, such as electrical quantity (voltage, current) or non-electrical quantity (heat, time, speed, etc.) to complete the control or maintenance mission.
1. Overhaul of sensing tissues
For electromagnetic (voltage, current, center) relays, the sensing structure is the electromagnetic system. The problems of the electromagnetic system are mainly concentrated in the coil and the moving and static iron cores.
(1) Coil fault maintenance
Coil defects generally include coil insulation damage; Inter-turn short circuit or grounding caused by mechanical injury; Because the power supply voltage is too low, the touch of the dynamic and static iron cores is not tight, so that the current through the coil is too large, and the coil is heated and burned. When repairing, the coil should be rewound. If the armature does not engage after the coil is energized, it may be that the connection of the coil lead wire falls off, causing the coil to break off. (2) Iron core fault maintenance
The main problem of the iron core is that the armature cannot be sucked after the power is on. This may be due to the disconnection of the coil, the presence of foreign matter between the moving and static cores, and the low power supply voltage. It should be patched on a case-by-case basis.
When energized, the armature is noisy. This may be due to uneven touch surfaces of moving and static cores, or oil contamination. When repairing, the coil should be removed and its touch surface should be filed or smoothed; If there is any oil stain, it should be cleaned.
The noise may be caused by short circuits and ring cracking, and it is sufficient to repair or replace a new short circuit ring.
After the power is off, the armature cannot be released immediately, which may be caused by the moving core being stuck, the air gap of the core is too small, the tension spring is strained, and the touch surface of the core is oily. DURING MAINTENANCE, IT SHOULD BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY ACCORDING TO THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, OR ADJUST THE AIR GAP TO MAINTAIN IT AT 0.02-0.05MM, OR REPLACE THE TENSION SPRING, OR CLEAN THE OIL STAIN WITH GASOLINE. In the case of thermal relays, the sensing tissue is a thermal element. The common problem is the burning out of the heating element, or the malfunction and non-operation of the heating element.
(1) Burning out of the thermal element. This may be due to a short circuit on the load side, or a heat element that operates too frequently. During the overhaul, the thermal element should be replaced and the setting value should be readjusted.
(2) Malfunction of the thermal element. This may be due to the setting value is too small, the action is not overloaded, or the application occasion has a violent impact and oscillation, which makes the action tissue loose and trip, causing maloperation.
(3) The thermal element does not operate. This may be caused by the setting value being too small, which makes the thermal element lose its overload maintenance function. During maintenance, the setting current should be adjusted according to the load working current.
