(1) Power failure:

Due to the instability of the external power supply, the power supply may be damaged due to aging power lines, lightning strikes, etc., or the fan may stop, so that the normal operation cannot be carried out. It is not uncommon for other parts of the machine to be damaged due to the power supply.

If the POWER indicator on the panel is green, it means that it is normal; If the indicator light is off, it means that the AC machine is not supplying power normally. This kind of problem is very simple to find, and it is also very simple to deal with, and it is also very simple to guard against.

In view of this kind of problem, the first thing should be to do a good job in the supply of external power supply, generally through the introduction of independent power lines to supply independent power supply, and the addition of voltage regulators to prevent instantaneous high or low voltage phenomenon. If conditions permit, UPS (uninterruptible power supply) can be added to ensure the normal power supply of the AC machine, some UPS provides voltage stabilization function, and some do not, pay attention when choosing. Set up a professional lightning protection method in the computer room to prevent lightning damage to the AC machine. Nowadays, there are many professional companies that do lightning protection engineering, and they can consider it when implementing network wiring.

(2) Port failure:

This is a common hardware problem, whether it is the S fiber port or the RJ-45 port of twisted pair, you must be careful when plugging and unplugging the connector. If the fiber plug is accidentally dirty, it may cause the fiber optic port to be contaminated and unable to communicate properly. We often see that many people like live plug-in connectors, theoretically speaking, it is possible, but this also inadvertently increases the incidence of port problems. Carelessness during transfer may also result in physical damage to the port. If the size of the crystal head purchased is too large, the port will be simply damaged when plugged into the AC machine. In addition, if a section of the twisted pair cable connected to the port is exposed to the outdoors, if the cable is struck by lightning, the connected AC port will be damaged, which may cause even more unintended damage.

In general, a port fault is that one or several ports are damaged. Therefore, after removing the faults of the computer connected to the port, you can replace the connected port to determine whether it is damaged. If you encounter such problems, you can clean the port with an alcohol cotton ball after the power supply is closed. If the port is indeed corrupted, the only way to replace it is to replace it.

(3) Module failure:

The AC machine is composed of many modules, such as: stacking module, management module (also called control module), expansion module, etc. There is a small chance that these modules will fail, but if they do fail, they can suffer huge financial losses. If you are not careful when plugging and unplugging the module, you may be bumped when transferring the AC machine, or the power supply may be unstable, etc., which may lead to such problems.

Of course, the three modules mentioned above have external interfaces, which are relatively simple to identify, and some can also identify faults through the indicator lights on the module. For example, a stacked module has a flat trapezoidal port, and perhaps an AC machine has a USB-like interface. There is a CONSOLE port on the handling module, which is used to establish a connection with the network management computer for convenient handling. If the expansion module S fiber is connected, there will be a pair of fiber interfaces.

When cleaning up such faults, first of all, ensure that the power supply of the AC machine and module is normal, and then check whether each module is plugged in the correct position, and then check whether the cable of the adapter module is normal. When connecting the management module, it is also necessary to consider whether it adopts the specified connection rate, whether there is parity, whether there is data flow manipulation and other elements. When connecting expansion modules, it is necessary to check whether the communication form is matched, for example, whether it is a full-duplex form or a half-duplex form. Of course, if you admit that there is a problem with the module, there is only one way to deal with it, and that is to contact the supplier immediately to replace it.

(4) Backplane failure:

The modules of the AC machine are plugged into the backplane. If the environment is humid, the circuit board is damp and short-circuited, or the components are damaged due to high temperature, lightning strikes and other factors, which will cause the circuit board to not work normally. For example, if the heat dissipation function is not good or the ambient temperature is too high, the temperature in the machine will rise, which will cause the components to burn out.

In the case of normal external power supply, if the internal modules of the AC machine are not working normally, it may be that the backplane is broken, even if the electrical maintenance engineer is in this situation, I am afraid that there is nothing to be done, the only way is to replace the backplane.

(5) Cable failure:

In fact, theoretically speaking, this kind of fault does not belong to the fault of the AC machine itself, but in practical use, cable faults often lead to the failure of the AC system or port to operate normally, so this kind of fault is also classified as the hardware fault of the AC machine. For example, the connector is not tightly plugged in, the order of the cable manufacturing may not be standardized, the cable should be connected with a crossed line but a straight line is used, the two optical fibers in the optical cable are staggered, and the faulty line connection leads to a network loop.

Judging from the above hardware problems, the poor environment of the computer room can easily lead to various hardware problems, so when we build the computer room, we must first do a good job in the construction of lightning protection and grounding, power supply, indoor temperature, indoor humidity, anti-electromagnetic interference, anti-static and other environments, so as to provide a good environment for the normal operation of network equipment.
