In line with the long-term goal of mitigating the greenhouse effect and reducing carbon emissions under the Paris Agreement, the country has launched a carbon neutrality initiative to promote individuals, enterprises and government agencies to achieve net-zero emission goals. Achieve a breakthrough in the field of electric vehicle services with a one-stop business model
Mr. Wang Baitang, deputy manager of the electric vehicle charging service department of Yudian Energy Services Co., Ltd., said that the current subsidy is only available to electric motorcycle buyers, charging station owners and operators. "Founded in 2010, Yes Energy is the first EV charging service operator in Taiwan. Before 2016, the EV market was almost non-existent in Taiwan. With no off-the-shelf experience, we have gone through many rounds of trial and error over the years to form the current one-stop business model. The model covers the sales of charging facilities, the installation of charging piles, the construction of charging stations, the development of mobile apps for car owners, and the all-weather management solutions for back-ends. We also provide site management services for site owners to avoid the hassle of running a business. “
In contrast to gasoline vehicles, electric vehicles need to be equipped with a charging network. Therefore, charging is the key to the promotion of electric vehicles. The cost of promotion will be very high, but EV manufacturers have no way out and must get involved. In the end, Yes Energy and Advantech stood out as the project for more than 100 charging stations selected by major Taiwan automakers. As a result, automakers are freed from the construction and management of charging stations to focus on the development of electric two-wheelers and electric vehicles. For example, Yes Energy plans to partner with an energy refueling company to help it deploy 60 electric motorcycle charging stations.
Dedicated IoT gateway and application development support
Each charging station is equipped with multiple charging stations and a facility cabinet. In addition, Yes Energy has added an industrial gateway to its solution to enable 24/7 unattended & one-stop EV charging services. It connects to the charging station to obtain real-time usage data such as charging completion time and charging station availability. Seamless, secure connectivity for contactless mobile payments. In addition to providing hardware, Advantech also provides technical consulting in system integration and software development. Advantech's AIM-Linux software service is a highly integrated, proven source code category for industry-oriented professional services. The service offers a modular flexible frame and board support package (BSP). AIM, a Linux software service, enables Yes Energy to rapidly develop scalable applications on an ARM-based platform. The service also allows migration from the historical model UBC-222 to the R3220 industrial gateway, an EPC based on the unified Yocto OS environment. AIM – Linux also supports the MODBUS protocol for transferring data between the charging station and the gateway. In addition, remote login and management of Secure Shell Protocol (SSH) based applications shields unauthorized access operations, ensures secure access to the gateway, and maintains the integrity of the billing service.
Fully universal charging parking spaces
Since 2019, the number of electric vehicles in Taiwan, China, has been growing. Many property owners, including landlords, parking lot operators and mall managers, have reached out to Yes Energy for charging station services. Yes Energy wants the government to provide subsidies to electric vehicle manufacturing and its related industries. Although the time scalability of electric vehicle charging is poor, at least 20 minutes, the space expansion is very strong, and electric vehicle charging piles can be installed anywhere there is parking space and electricity. Mr. Wang said that Yes Energy's vision is to fully popularize charging parking spaces and upgrade all traditional parking spaces.
An article by BloombergNEF on the EV outlook states that by 2040, the global EV charging network will need more than 309 million charging devices.
