At present, industrial tablet PCs have been widely used in self-service terminals, medical instruments, industrial control, automation equipment, telecommunications, electric power, networks, rail transit and other fields.

The commonly used contact screens of industrial tablet PCs include capacitive contact screens, resistive contact screens, infrared contact screens, etc., and the application environment of different contact screens is different, and the orientation system is also different. Among them, the resistive contact screen can be divided into a four-wire resistive screen and a five-wire resistive screen.

The resistive contact screen is used to complete the contact control through the principle of pressure sensing, and the physical orientation of the contact point (X,Y) in the rectangular area is converted into a voltage representing the X coordinate and the Y coordinate. The resistive contact screen is a thin film and glass structure, and the adjacent side of the film and glass is coated with ITO (nano-indium tin metal oxide) coating, and ITO has good conductivity and transparency. When the contact operation, the ITO of the lower layer of the film will contact the ITO of the upper layer of the glass, send the corresponding electrical signal through the sensor, send it to the processor through the conversion circuit, and convert it into the X and Y values on the screen after calculation, and complete the action of the selected point, and present it on the screen of the industrial tablet computer.

Four-wire resistive screen

The two-layer ITO operation of the four-wire resistive screen adds a constant voltage of 5V to each layer: one vertically and one horizontally.

Five-wire resistive screen

The bottom layer of the five-wire resistive screen adds the voltage field in both directions to the conductive working surface of the glass through the network, which can be understood as the time-sharing operation of the voltage field in both directions is added to the same working surface, and the outer nickel-gold conductive layer is only used as a pure conductor. The inner ITO of the five-wire resistive contact screen needs four leads, and the outer layer is only a conductor, and there are a total of 5 lead wires for the contact screen.

The resistance screen is characterized by high resolution and high-speed transmission reaction. High surface hardness, reduce abrasions, scratches and chemical resistance, can be used for any object contact, suitable for industrial control areas. One correction, high stability, never drift.

Precautions

Because the resistive contact screen requires a certain amount of pressure, long-term operation simply causes the wear of the appearance data, and perhaps the upper and lower layers lose their elasticity and form the problem of poor contact, which then affects the normal service life of the product. In addition, the outer layer of the resistive screen composite film is made of plastic materials, and too much force or the use of sharp objects may scratch the entire contact screen, resulting in the inability of the industrial tablet to operate. However, within the limit, scratches will only hurt the outer conductive layer, and the scratches of the outer conductive layer have nothing to do with the five-wire resistive screen, but have an impact on the four-wire resistive screen.
