1. Hardware reasons
When the industrial computer processes too many field signals transmitted by the PLC, the CPU frequency of the industrial computer is low and the memory is small, so it cannot identify and process so many signals at the same time, which makes these signals "crash" and cause the industrial computer to "crash".
Solution: Due to the limitation of the memory module slot of the industrial computer motherboard, the memory can only be expanded to 64M. The main solution is to reduce the frequency of the industrial computer processing and identification of on-site signals to avoid signal "crashing". The specific scheme is as follows: when the industrial computer is connected to the field signal through the PLC, the signal sampling period is set to be more than 2s, and the analog signal with little change such as temperature can be set to more than 10s. In the process of wincc programming, after setting the sampling period of all analog signals for more than 2s, the "crash" phenomenon of the industrial computer rarely occurs.
2. Ambient temperature
The industrial computer is sensitive to the ambient temperature, and when the air conditioner is damaged in the hot summer, the industrial computer is easy to "crash".
Countermeasures: Repair the air conditioner, reduce the ambient temperature of the industrial computer, and ensure the normal operation of the industrial computer.
3. Poor internal heat dissipation of the industrial computer?
The environment in which the industrial computer is located is harsh, in addition to the high temperature, the dust is also large. When dust enters the industrial computer, the heat dissipation effect of various electronic components such as boards and CPUs is poor, resulting in the "crash" of the industrial computer.
Countermeasures: Regularly remove the dust inside the industrial computer and maintain good ventilation.
4. Check the CPU fan and host power supply fan
The heat dissipation of the industrial computer is mainly carried out through the CPU fan and the power supply fan. When the CPU fan is damaged, the temperature of the CPU rises, which can easily cause the IPC to "crash".
Countermeasures: Check the fan of the industrial computer frequently and replace the damaged fan in time. When the industrial computer in the central control room leaves the factory, the CPU is only equipped with a heat sink and no fan. After installing a special cooling fan, the temperature of the CPU was reduced by nearly 5°C.
5. Frequently clean up temporary files
When the IPC is running, it will generate a large number of temporary files such as temp files, which occupy hard disk and system resources, affecting the speed of information processing by the IPC. Regularly check the hard disk and delete temporary files to improve the speed of information processing on the industrial computer.
6. Maintain the system frequently
Due to the editing of control programs and other reasons, other application software is installed in the system, and too many application software will make the operation speed of the industrial computer slower and slower. Therefore, every once in a while, do a comprehensive maintenance of the IPC, click "Start→", "Programs→ "Accessories", → "System Tools" → "Maintenance Wizard", and then click the "OK" button to carry out comprehensive maintenance of the IPC, so that the IPC can be kept in the best condition. It is best to do a "hard disk defragmentation" every 1 month for the hard disk, which can speed up the running speed of the program.
7. The industrial computer "crashes" caused by information blocking.
The industrial computer (upper computer) in the central control room monitors and controls S7-400PLC (lower computer), and the fault phenomenon when the information is blocked is: the monitoring signal on the screen of the industrial computer appears "shaded and the signal values are zero, and the upper computer can not monitor and control the lower computer. This kind of failure is not the same as the "crash phenomenon" mentioned above. The cause of the fault is caused by the information blocking, due to the lower computer "crash" or the transmission signal network cable and network card failure, resulting in the host computer can not receive the signal, in fact, the host computer does not "crash". This kind of failure occurred in early November 2001, due to the poor contact between the network cable and the network card, the upper computer could not monitor and control the lower computer.
Countermeasures: When the screen of the upper computer appears "shadow", first check the working status of the lower computer, S7-400PLC CPU template has a variety of error indicators, according to the status of the indicator to operate. If the PLC "freezes", rebooting the PLC's CPU with the key will restore it to normal. If there is a problem with the network cable and network card, the operator should immediately check whether the signal cable plug of the upper and lower computer has poor contact, and gently press or swing each plug by hand, it is very likely to find out the fault point.
8. It is recommended to upgrade the industrial computer
At present, through the above measures, the number of "crashes" of industrial computers has been greatly reduced. However, due to the low hardware configuration of the host computer, the low version of the software operation and control system, and the slow processing speed of the host computer, it is recommended to upgrade the industrial computer to increase the CPU frequency, memory capacity and hard disk capacity. In order to better meet the production needs, it is recommended that the CPU of the industrial computer in the central control room be upgraded to Pentium 41.5GHz or above, the memory is 256M, and the hard disk is 20G or more. At the same time, the operating software is upgraded to Chinese windows98 or windowsnt system, and the control software is upgraded to wincc5.0 version. In this way, the speed of processing information on the industrial computer can be greatly improved, and the "crash" can be avoided.
