Danfoss has expanded its range of high-efficiency microplate heat exchangers to enable more chiller and heat pump manufacturers to benefit from the improved refrigerant charging and system planning brought about by Z-type planning.
Each new type is planned for a specific system plan:
The R32-optimized range complements the existing R410A, R452B and R454B refrigerant heat exchangers, reducing GWP and giving chiller manufacturers more options.
New single- and dual-circuit versions are available to complement existing chiller ranges. The portfolio is now capable of encompassing the entire range of light commercial and commercial chillers.
The HDW44 is the ambition of choice for hygienic water heating, with double-layer plates and built-in partitions to avoid contamination of water in the event of refrigerant leakage.
Breathing heat exchangers (SGHX) improve the power of heat pump condensers and evaporators, counteracting the effects of highly viscous refrigerant mixtures such as R455A and R454C.
The full range of heat pumps can be used with a wide range of flammable refrigerants, including propane, making their refrigerant charge reduction feature particularly valuable.
Like all Danfoss microplate heat exchangers (MPHEs), the new series is built around the proven Z-planning concept. Since 2016, the Z-Plan has helped OEMs around the world advance power, minimize weight and reduce refrigerant charge with its high heat transfer coefficient.
All heat exchangers can be customized, matching the number of plates and connection sizes to the requirements of each system, and combined with Danfoss expansion valves, they are capable of achieving stable outlet superheating, also below 3K.
Danfoss is now the only supplier that can offer OEMs a combination of induction microplate heat exchangers (MPHEs) and microchannel heat exchangers (MCHEs), which includes induction compressors, valves, piping components and technical support.
