In 2020, Mean Well System Power officially won the bid for the use of the third station of the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS) synchrotron high-frequency system, as the DC power supply system of the third station of the high-frequency system in the synchrotron, supplying the ultra-high energy required for electrons to accelerate to nearly the speed of light in the synchrotron. The diagram at the bottom shows the ring structure common to synchrotron (electron) accelerators (Fig. 1), with an energizing ring on the inside and a storage ring on the outside and a number of test stations branched out from the storage ring.

Taiwan Photon Source synchrotron (Figure 2), as can be seen from the figure below, the Taiwan Photon Source synchrotron is mainly composed of a linear accelerator, an energizing ring and a storage ring. In the second step, the high-speed electrons are introduced into the storage ring for accumulation to produce an ultra-high brightness beam, and the energy lost by the electron beam due to the emission of synchrotron radiation light is supplemented by a high-frequency system and sufficient energy dispersion viability of the electron beam is provided. Its MEAN WELL system power supply equipment is used in the DC power supply equipment of the third station of the high-frequency system.
