Our semi-welded heat exchangers are fully optimized for industrial refrigeration applications, including a number of performance improvements. Danfoss' semi-welded heat exchangers are designed for ammonia systems and can be used in applications such as condensers, flooded and pumped evaporators, subcoolers, desuperheaters, superheaters, economizers, oil coolers, and more. The product line includes several sizes of SW19-SW59, with more coming soon, and can handle temperatures ranging from -40°C to 120°C (-40°F to 248°F) and pressures up to 25 bar (300 psi).

The new plate design offers superior heat transfer capabilities
The optimized plate geometry of the SW19-59 series supports high turbulence, which improves the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger, resulting in superior heat transfer capacity in a compact form factor and low refrigerant charge.
The new gasket system improves the stability of the plate pack
The new system features a new gasket and gasket groove design that ensures high gasket stability and optimal plate alignment, as well as quick and easy service. This new design improves the sealing effect and prevents the gasket from coming out. In addition, the double-walled gasket baffle reduces the risk of contamination by venting potential refrigerant leaks out of the plate pack. The new gasket system is glue-free and therefore easy to maintain.
Convenient maintenance and service
The new series is easy to access and maintain. Technicians can use non-corrosive nylon rollers to make it easier to reach the plate packs by allowing the ejector plates to slide easily along the support bar. Fixing the bolt head and locking sleeve when opening and closing the unit prevents the nut and bolt head from rotating, so assembly of the plate heat exchanger is quick and safe. The enhanced gasket system ensures simple and precise plate pack alignment.

Danfoss semi-welded heat exchanger designs have been validated for high temperature and mechanical testing. In addition to this, each semi-welded plate slot as well as the assembled plate heat exchanger are thoroughly tested for helium leakage before leaving the factory.
