Under the influence of the strong typhoon "Dusuri", extremely heavy rainfall hit the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Affected by extremely heavy rainfall, the water level of many rivers in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province has skyrocketed, and the risk of river flooding and urban waterlogging has intensified, and some villages and towns have been besieged by floods, and water and electricity have been cut off.

Under the siege of floods, many enterprises faced economic losses such as flooded factories, soaked equipment, and shutdowns.

Repair the equipment first, and soak it for a day less

"As soon as the water level dropped and the display part of the machine tool was exposed, our customer entered the factory as soon as possible and removed one CNC controller in waist-deep water. Rainwater came to our hotel and asked for help with testing to reduce soaking time and loss. Rong Haiquan, senior service engineer of the northern region of Beijing Fanuc's after-sales service headquarters, recalled.

Rong Haiquan is one of the members of the three-person repair team that Beijing Fanuc after-sales service department stationed in the Zhuozhou disaster area for the first time after the Zhuozhou flood. On July 29, Zhuozhou suddenly rained, and on July 31, Zhuozhou was flooded, and on August 2, Rong Haiquan, Fan Kangzheng, and Zhao Jiguo immediately set off to the site of Zhuozhou machining enterprise to understand the affected customers and machine tool equipment information, and help customers test and repair soaking equipment.

"On the same day, the department began to discuss the plan, and in the morning we got in touch with the boss of the customer in the disaster area, and in the afternoon we contacted the local hotel and arranged for our three engineers to go to the site to help the customer." Rong Haiquan and two other colleagues from Beijing to Zhuozhou East Railway Station by high-speed rail, after getting off the high-speed rail local traffic is basically paralyzed, he and his colleagues walked about 500 meters of waterlogged road, encountered the depth of the water to stand in the forklift bucket of construction machinery, but most of the time, they still rolled up their trouser legs, walked to the customer site, sometimes standing in the water to test the equipment. "The equipment at the customer's site was soaked in water, and the flood water had not completely receded when we went."

Due to the high value of machine tools, temperature and humidity have a greater impact on high-precision machine tools, and once the machine tool is damaged, it will lead to the overall stagnation of enterprise production. In the event of a flood disaster, the machine tools and CNC systems that have been soaked in the flood may be scrapped, resulting in the shutdown of the enterprise, and the maintenance is complicated, resulting in serious economic and property losses. Drawing on the customer support experience of the Zhengzhou flood in Henan Province, Beijing Fanuc launched the emergency repair mechanism of flood equipment as soon as possible after the flood in Zhuozhou: issued waterproof early warning and self-rescue measures to guide enterprises to self-rescue equipment and shorten the soaking time; On-site guidance for customers to carry out dredging and key component treatment, cooperate with manufacturers to carry out overall equipment recovery assessment, statistics of affected machine tools, and telephone care and guidance.

Zhao Jiguo, who went to the site together, recalled the scene he saw when he first arrived at the customer's site, and still felt shocked, the place where the flood passed was a mess, most of the equipment was completely soaked, and there were varying degrees of rust. "Based on the past experience of flood customer support, Beijing Fanuc judged that after this situation occurred, it was necessary to seize the opportunity as soon as possible, carry out rescue and remedial measures as soon as possible, prevent the further deterioration of the situation as much as possible, and try to help customers recover losses to the greatest extent.

Respond quickly, respond professionally, and get through difficulties with customers

After the disaster, Beijing Fanuc responded in a timely manner, maintained close contact with customers in the disaster area, and understood the needs and losses of customers. According to statistics, more than 80 machining enterprises in Zhuozhou have suffered varying degrees of losses in machine tools and CNC equipment. Some of the high-lying factories are not flooded, and the low-lying machine tools are flooded up to 3.5 meters deep, involving about 200 soaking equipment, of which 60% are seriously submerged by machine tools.

"The restoration of plant facilities, water and electricity and machine tools are the main obstacles. At present, Beijing Fanuc has received 776 flood-affected parts from 30 customers, plus the daily customer repair during the peak period, the customer maintenance parts accepted have exceeded 1,400 pieces, which is equivalent to the repair volume of ordinary customers in two months. Yu Yang, senior spare parts maintenance engineer of Beijing Fanuc after-sales service headquarters service center, said.

It is understood that a machine tool usually contains about 8 FANUC components, among which the maintenance project of NC system, drive and spindle motor is the most process, the most difficult and time-consuming detail. Each component needs to be repaired individually, and the maintenance plan for different parts is different. Due to long-term soaking in water, a large amount of sludge has accumulated in the gaps, which makes it more difficult to clean, and it is necessary to use ultrasonic cleaning machines, high-pressure water guns, cleaning solutions, etc. to ensure that the sludge of the circuit board is removed. The waterproof level of the spindle motor is lower than that of the servo motor, and all parts of the motor need to be disassembled after the overall long-term flood soaking, and the stator and rotor are re-polished, assembled, and painted after cleaning and drying, which is complex and time-consuming.

In order to help customers complete equipment testing, cleaning and maintenance as soon as possible, and resume work and production as soon as possible, Beijing Fanuc not only arranges engineers to go to the disaster area on the premise of ensuring the personal safety of arriving personnel. At the same time, the company integrated resources, urgently deployed more personnel and equipment, and mobilized 23 people in the spare parts team of the service center to give priority to flood customers to ensure that the maintenance needs of customers are dealt with in a timely manner, fully support the resumption of work and production and post-disaster reconstruction work of customers, and maintain at least 2 people every day to follow up local customer visits, solution communication and other work. In view of the fact that the daily working hours still cannot meet the maintenance problems of flood customers, the after-sales service engineers work overtime to repair the repaired equipment to the customer as soon as possible. The intensity of this work is expected to continue until at least mid-September. "Dozens of customers visited, there are new machines that have been hit hard before they are used, and there are those who have worked hard to save a few machine tools and are almost cleared, especially when they see the washed out plant, the machine tools that have been completely soaked, the corroded circuit boards and lead screws...... "Beijing Fanuc on-site service staff is heartbroken: "We have seen different customers and heard different voices, but we have jointly strengthened one idea: to help customers minimize losses, resume production as soon as possible, and tide over difficulties together." ”

After a month of maintenance, Beijing Fanuc has completed the cleaning of 646 spare parts, successfully delivered to 25 enterprises, and some enterprises have begun normal production and operation. With the efforts of the local government, enterprises and people, Zhuozhou is gradually resuming production and life, roads, bridges, electricity, drinking water, communications and other infrastructure are gradually restored, and enterprises in the affected areas are also stepping up their efforts to resume work and production, and Zhuozhou is restarting.
