After the introduction of the innovative high-precision dry metering furnace 917X series that can be used in the field, Fluke has successfully developed the multi-functional dry metering furnace 914X series with more functions and easier to use, forming the products of the metering furnace into different series to meet the different applications of various users. Extends high performance to industrial process environments with virtually no reduction in metrology performance. The 914X Series is ideal for transmitter loop calibration, alignment calibration, or simply checking thermocouple sensors. With the optional "Process" option, there is no need to carry any additional tools for on-site metering, and a field metering furnace is sufficient for all kinds of metrology needs. This means that all the experimental measurements have been moved to the site.

Technology

In addition to the same two-stage temperature control technology from the 917X series, which results in a vertical uniformity of ±0.05°C, the 914X metering furnace also features an updated controller that improves stability control when controlling the temperature rise and fall and hold. And it can compensate the power supply voltage, so that the metering furnace is more stable during operation and is not disturbed by external power supply fluctuations.

Regardless of whether the power supply is turned on or not, as long as the temperature of the thermostatic plug exceeds 50°C, the metering furnace will have a red warning light to prevent scalding. The new 914X series of field metering furnaces are smaller, easier to carry in the field, faster temperature control and more versatile, all of which make it the pinnacle of industrial field metering furnaces. In addition, the 914X provides a dedicated smart connector with a built-in memory chip that stores the ITS-90 temperature scale coefficient of the reference standard platinum resistance.

Versatile Functions (Process - Process Model)

The 914X Series offers a process model (option) with a built-in dual-channel thermometer that can read standard platinum resistance, industrial platinum resistance, thermocouples, and it can also measure 4-20 mA temperature transmitter output current. It also provides a temperature transmitter loop voltage of 24 volts. It also has an automatic switch test function that activates the switch when the temperature reaches a predetermined value. A true reference thermometer measuring device with an accuracy of ± 0.01 °C The on-board automated test function also stores data. The display accuracy, stability, uniformity, and load impact all achieve metrology performance. Whether you need to calibrate a 4-20 mA transmitter or a simple temperature switch, a field metering furnace is up to the task. Covering a temperature range of -25°C to 660°C, the three models allow the calibration of a wide range of sensor types. The optional "process" version (Model 914X-X-P) has a built-in two-channel thermometer for measuring PRTs, RTDs, thermocouples, and 4-20mA temperature transmitters powered by a 24 V loop voltage.

Each "process" version can be connected to the ITS-90 standard (reference) platinum resistance thermometer. The built-in two-channel thermometer has an accuracy range of ± 0.01 °C – ± 0.07 °C, depending on the temperature being measured. The standard (reference) platinum resistance thermometer for the field metering furnace contains independent calibration constants, which are stored in a memory chip inside the sensor housing, so the sensors can be used interchangeably. The second channel is user-selectable and can be used to measure 2, 3 or 4 wire RTDs, thermocouples or 4-20 mA transmitters. For calibration, it is not necessary to bring more than one instrument to the site. An on-site metering furnace is sufficient.

Suitable for industrial site use

On-site metering furnaces are specifically designed for industrial process environments. Weighing less than 8.2 kg, its small size makes it very easy to handle. The on-site metering furnace is specially optimized for speed performance and can be cooled down to -25 °C in 15 minutes and up to 660 °C in 15 minutes. Such a feature saves you a lot of valuable time in your on-site metrology, and the economic benefits are obvious.

The conditions of the field environment are usually unstable and can have very large temperature fluctuations. Each 914X furnace is equipped with a patented gradient temperature compensation feature that adjusts the control characteristics to ensure consistent performance in unstable environments. All technical indicators given are guaranteed in the range of 13 °C - 33 °C.

The "process" version of the field metering furnace has built-in non-volatile memory to archive up to 20 tests. The display temperature, reference temperature, readings of the unit under test, error, date and time can be recorded during field testing. Each test can be viewed from the front panel or exported using the included 9930Interface-it software. With Interface-it software, you can populate the raw data into a calibration report or ASCII file. These features greatly simplify the workload of manual recording during on-site metrology and the omissions or errors that may be caused by manual recording.
