1. 4U industrial computer

4U IPC refers to a 19-inch rack-mounted IPC with a height of 4U and ATX architecture.

U is a unit that represents the external scale of the server, which is an abbreviation for unit, and the specific scale is determined by the United States Electronics Industries Association (EIA). The reason for sizing the server is to keep the server in the proper size so that it can be placed on a rack made of iron or aluminum. There are screw holes in the rack to hold the server so that it can match the screw holes of the server, and then fix them with screws to facilitate the space required for each server.

The prescribed dimensions are the width (48.26 cm = 19 inches) and the height (multiples of 4.445 cm) of the server. Because it is 19 inches wide, racks that are satisfied with this regulation are sometimes referred to as "19-inch racks". The thickness is based on 4.445cm. 1U is 4.445cm, and 2U is twice as large as 1U at 8.89cm.

The so-called "1U PC server" is a product with a thickness of 4.445 cm that meets the EIA standard. Products that are planned to fit in a 19-inch cabinet are generally referred to as rack servers. 4U industrial computer is widely used in the field of industrial control.

2. BOX PC (no electric fan IPC)

It is generally called a fanless industrial computer.

Thanks to the evolution of the chip manufacturing process and the improvement of CPU function, the small volume of the fanless industrial computer can completely replace the 4U industrial computer in terms of function and function, so that it is widely used in various scenarios of the industrial computer.

With the development of the era, the fanless industrial computer has also evolved. Traditional industrial control generally does not have too high requirements for function, and the control signal and sensor information of the lower computer are processed to detect the reliability of the industrial computer rather than the function. Therefore, many 4U industrial computers and fanless industrial computers actually run in the form of light load and low power consumption.

With the rise of marginal accounting, industrial computers need to be responsible for the processing of image and video signals on the marginal side, and even do a certain degree of training and reasoning operations. This kind of machine vision industrial computer will generally give full play to the function of the accounting machine, and the power consumption will also be greatly increased, so the industrial computer with electric fan to strengthen heat dissipation has appeared.

Unlike a 4U IPC, the cooling airflow of this IPC does not pass through the motherboard (PCBA), so the airflow with moisture and conductive particles will not cause a short circuit on the motherboard or damage to other electrical components. The modular fan can replace the fan without opening the case, improving the function and making the protection simple.

3. Industrial tablet (human-machine interface)
