IDC Japan released a report on Japan's wearable device shipment statistics for the fourth quarter of 2021, which showed that the Japan wearable device market shrank in the last quarter of last year, but Apple still held the leading position with a market share of more than 7%.
According to the report data, in the fourth quarter of 2021, Japan's total wearable device shipments were 2.52 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%. However, for the whole of 2021, the total shipment of wearable devices in Japan reached 8.03 million units, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year. Apple shipped 1.8 million units in the fourth quarter of 2021, about 71.5% of total shipments, down 2.8 percentage points from the same period last year.
