The innovative Emparro67 Hybrid power supply is a fully encapsulated power supply with many powerful features: it not only relocates the power supply from the control cabinet to the industrial site, but also monitors the current using two integrated channels, enabling 24VDC load circuit monitoring and reliable operation. The IO-Link interface enables extensive and transparent communication.
The Emparro series of IP67 power supplies are designed for off-cabinet applications. Protects all components from mechanical stress. The compact and robust metal housing is completely sealed and protected from dust, moisture and cooling lubricants in harsh industrial environments. Its high energy efficiency (up to 93.8% energy conversion rate) allows the device to maintain a low surface temperature and be directly touchable, even when operating at full load. This makes the power supply unit a true all-rounder for many different applications.
The biggest advantage of this distributed solution is that the voltage conversion from 230 VAC to 24 VDC is no longer carried out in the cabinet, but directly in the vicinity of the field load, so that power losses are kept to a minimum and energy costs are reduced. At the same time, smaller control cabinets can be used, and in some applications it is even possible to get rid of them altogether.
The new Emparro67 Hybrid power supply with two channels with integrated MICO can be used to monitor currents such as individual system components, sensors, actuators and, e.g. fieldbus modules. In this way, the sensor and module voltages connected to the fieldbus system as well as the actuator voltages can be monitored separately. Separation performance is ensured, universal monitoring of two input voltages is not possible, and maximum operational reliability is provided. If the actuator power supply is interrupted, e.g. due to a short circuit, overload or cable breakage, the fieldbus continues to be supplied with power via the sensor and module voltage. This means that fault messages and diagnostic information can still be sent to the PLC.
The Mico channels that monitor the two 24 VDC load circuits can be adjusted to different current values via a button on the device or via a communication interface. The shutdown function of the Mico channel is patented and the principle of "as late as possible, but as early as necessary" is applied. As soon as 90% of the set current value is reached, an early warning is triggered, so that actions can be taken before an error occurs. A disconnected channel can be activated by pressing a button or by signaling. If maintenance is performed and the service person disconnects the channel by pressing a button on the device, it can only be manually reactivated by the service person. In this case, the remote open option will be disabled during the process.
The Emparro67 Hybrid is equipped with an IO-Link interface (M12 connection) that allows communication with the IO-Link master as a device. As a result, the Emparro67 Hybrid can be used in a fully networked smart application to transmit comprehensive diagnostic data and operating characteristics. For example, monitoring the service life of a device: the Emparro67 Hybrid provides precise information about the status of the device. If an operator-defined status is reached, the order can be initiated directly and the equipment can be replaced during the next maintenance cycle without additional overhauls or downtime. Companies in the plant, construction, and mechanical engineering industries can use this predictive maintenance capability to develop new businesses.
