Robots are a hot concept recently, especially service robots used in hospitals, hotels and other scenarios. However, the current functions of various service robots are still relatively weak, and some time ago there was a situation where Russia robots ran from the laboratory to the road. Under this condition, compared with making terminal application products, BooCax hopes to start with the most basic positioning and navigation of the robot, based on multi-sensor fusion, to ensure the stable positioning and operation of the robot.
The core technologies of Bukes are mainly UWB (Super Pulse Width) positioning, as well as positioning navigation and path planning that combine LiDAR, UWB, infrared and ultrasound. UWB positioning can achieve an accuracy of 20cm, combined with the LiDAR SLAM algorithm, it can carry out positioning, navigation and path planning in an open space of up to 10,000 square meters, and the positioning accuracy can reach 2cm without obstruction. Based on these two technologies, Bukes offers different levels of solutions for different customers, from positioning and navigation modules, to motion chassis and even complete robots. Since UWB requires the placement of base stations, for ease of use, Bucos' software can automatically calculate the position of each base station.
To ensure that the robot positioning will not be lost, Bukosi fuses multiple sensors for positioning and navigation
The reason why UWB is combined is mainly to ensure that the robot position is never lost. UWB and LiDAR belong to absolute positioning and relative positioning respectively, and the combination of the two can accurately locate and ensure that it is not lost. In the environment of completely repetitive and symmetrical scene environment, such as a corridor with exactly the same on both sides, and some special circumstances, such as being moved away during operation, surrounded by crowds, large open areas, exceeding the radar detection range, etc., the positioning of lidar is prone to problems. UWB belongs to absolute positioning, and the robot knows its absolute spatial coordinates, and can avoid losing its position in the above situation.
Positioning this matter can actually refer to people's own practices. When people walk in the forest, they are surrounded by the same trees, and if they rely on the relative positioning of their vision, they cannot judge their position, but if they have absolute positioning such as GPS, combined with the surrounding trees, it is easy to distinguish their position. UWB and LiDAR are like GPS and human eyes. Co-founder Zhang Dongquan said that the reason why customers choose Bukesi is precisely because they will not lose this point because of their positioning.
But LiDAR and UWB are not enough. The LiDAR can only see obstacles that are at the same level as itself, and the LiDAR cannot see obstacles below the LiDAR height, so Bukos has installed ultrasonic and infrared sensors to prevent these obstacles.

In addition to features, enterprise customers are also concerned about cost. Bukesi has reduced costs by integrating the entire upstream supply chain resources and optimization algorithms, but a large part of the cost: lidar, Bukesi still chooses more expensive foreign products. Although it is also hoped to use the radar of domestic manufacturers to reduce costs, the domestic product Bukesi found that the stability is still not enough after testing. Another way to reduce costs is to use cameras and image algorithms for positioning and navigation, in this regard, Zhang Dongquan said that they are also researching, and follow-up products will be introduced, and target tracking functions will be added.
At present, a lot of Bukesi products have been sold. Zhang Dongquan said that the product sales in May were more than 300,000 yuan, and reached 1 million in June, and there are currently more than 50 partners, mainly used in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, banks, shopping malls and other occasions. At present, a manufacturer of service robots for hospitals is conducting joint research and development in Bukes, and the sports chassis of the product comes from Bukes, on which a large screen is installed, which can be used to provide consulting and other services in hospitals.
The core team of Bukesi is from Stanford, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. He has previously made products such as vending robots, intelligent hardware, and video capture software.
