Composition of the AC500 system
CPUs come in three different grades: PM571, PM581, and PM591. These different levels of CPUs can be programmed in 5 different programming languages using the same programming software. The CPU has an LCD display, a set of operation buttons, an SD card expansion port, and two integrated serial communication ports. The CPU can be plugged directly into the CPU backplane, which can also be selected to integrate Ethernet or ARCNET network interfaces. The retained CS31 communication interface takes into account the compatibility with AC31 series PLCs.
Communication module
In addition to the integrated communication interfaces on the CPU, each CPU can be expanded with 4 more communication interfaces. These four communication interfaces can be extended to any standard bus protocol.
In addition to the two Modbus communication interfaces integrated on the CPU and the optional integrated Ethernet or ARCNET network interfaces, the communication expansion interfaces can also be extended with bus interfaces such as Profibus DP-V1, DeviceNet, CANopen and Ethernet.
