IEC 62439-3 Clause 4 (PRP) and IEC 62439-3 Clause 5 (HSR) are redundancy protocol standards that define industrial automation networks with zero recovery time. PRP and HSR are ideal for substation automation and other mission-critical applications where system downtime cannot be tolerated.

The EOM-G103 series is IEC 62439-3 compliant and provides an easy-to-use and cost-effective integration solution for products that require redundant modules to be embedded in products that do not comply with IEC 62439-3. This series of modules supports 2 IEC 62439-3 Ethernet ports for building PRP or HSR networks: SGMII (MAC mode)/SerDes (1000BaseX). It also includes 1 standard Ethernet port SGMII (MAC mode)/SerDes (1000BaseX) for connection to standard IEEE 802.3 Ethernet devices. In addition, the EOM-G103-PHR-PTP series provides an additional SGMII (MAC mode)/SerDes (1000BaseX) to build a local Ethernet console port, allowing users to easily maintain, control, and manage the device locally.
