The CES 40.5 kV Outdoor Capacitor Breaker is a new generation of medium and high voltage vacuum circuit breakers for capacitors developed by Eaton in response to the increasing load demands of the power grid. The circuit breaker is suitable for 500 kV, 330 kV, 220 kV substations and provides switching of reactive power compensation capacitor banks on the 35 kV voltage side.

Advanced double-fracture vacuum arc extinguishing technology provides up to 1500 A back-to-back capacitor bank switching capability;

Mechanical service life can be up to 30,000 cycles;

Equipped with a bistable permanent magnet mechanism, it has its own fast opening function, which can complete the opening and closing operation within 200 s of power loss;

Eaton's encapsulated insulation technology with hydrophobic epoxy resin material (HCEP) provides excellent insulation performance;

Eaton's unique manual energy storage spring actuator can be used for emergency opening when there is no power supply.
