The S7 provides users with a powerful solution for a wide range of control applications, making it easy to adjust and expand the system. The current third generation of the S7-200 builds on the success of the initial series and features a new CPU to create a faster and more powerful PLC series. With the introduction of the new 224XP, the available family of CPUs was expanded, as CPUs have a family of digital, analog, and communication expansion modules. For faster type applications, real-time control is easy with a full range of built-in interrupts. Timing, communication, high-speed counters, high-speed pulse outputs, and hardware interrupt functions are provided, and implementing a priority table means that all interrupts can be executed simultaneously. Communication with the S7-200 is built-in. Communication between PLCs can be achieved via a two-wire network with up to 126 nodes up to 1200m in length. In the "free port" mode, the RS-485 port of the PLC operates in free ASC11 mode, which allows it to communicate with other devices. Siemens' goal is to make S7-200 programming as user-friendly as possible, and with this goal in mind, the MicroWin programming software has been further improved. These improvements all help to reduce program development time. You can achieve this by adding more Wizards and improving existing Wizards. These improvements help program developers develop more routine/complex parts of the program, such as TD200 configuration, PID loop configuration, high-speed counter configuration, etc. Context-sensitive help means users can get all the information they need with just a click of their finger.
